We have begrudgingly left our families and the beautiful Napa Valley behind and, after taking the red-eye last night (blech), are re-adjusting our internal clocks to NYC-time. I am thankfully feeling much better, and while I wish we were still in CA, was delighted to be greeted by a warm breeze and LEAVES on all the trees upon our return.
Today was T's 32nd birthday, which we celebrated by surprising him with a gathering of friends at a local Mexican restaurant with a killer view of the City (Alma's in Red Hook, for those in the 'hood). He thought I had "just" made reservations for the three of us, so he was completely surprised when we walked around the corner and found a group of our friends waiting for us. My SIL did most of the planning -- have I mentioned that she's the best SIL in the world? -- and even picked up a delectable chocolate mousse cake from Mr. Chocolate himself. The food was great, we pulled off the surprise, I was happy b/c T was happy, and everyone had fun hanging out together. Not a bad birthday, if I do say so myself.
I have another u/s tomorrow afternoon, so please pray and/or keep your fingers crossed that everything is still going well. I definitely still feel pg ... I'm sensitive to smells (especially food), meals tend to sit like a lump of lead in my stomach no matter how hungry I am when I started eating ... and other "normal" symptoms. I've also been feeling a bit crampy, so I'm hopeful that this little one is growing, growing. I'll let you know how things went as soon as I can tomorrow. Hoping, hoping!!
