I have two seconds before it's my turn to hop in the shower while el bebe is asleep ... hurry, hurry!
It's the day before my brother's wedding and everyone is running around doing last-minute errands. Dad is off getting his hair cut, T is with our friend Chris picking up the wedding programs and Mom and I are here with the kids waiting for my grandparents to get here (so I guess we're not running errands yet, but we will be later on). It's been a great week. T and I celebrated our 8th anniversary on Tuesday (how time flies when you're married to the greatest guy in the world!!), by having lunch at Michael Chiarello's Napa Valley restaurant, Tra Vigne. It was SO yummy! Afterwards, we went sparkling wine/champagne tasting at the Schrambsberg Vineyard ... my idea, and the perfect way to celebrate an anniversary if I do say so myself. My in-law's were (as always) kind enough to watch the boys while we enjoyed our oh-too-short-but-very-sweet time together.
The rest of the week has been spent getting ready for the big day. (How easy is it going to be to remember my bro's anniversary? This week has become the week of luuuuv for our family, lol!) There have, of course, been a few minor stressful moments trying to remember everything that's needed doing, but overall I think it's been a pretty darn relaxing week for everyone. Speaking of relaxing, the bride is off pampering herself today, getting a mani/pedi, etc. I'm glad she's taking the time to unwind before her big day, and it's much deserved after all the craziness of the past few months! What a beautiful bride she is going to be, and a better SIL I couldn't have asked for.
The Shookie is the ringbearer btw, and we're putting the Ronanator in the little tux that the Shookie wore for my BIL's wedding 5 years ago. They both look SO cute and I promise to post or send out pictures when we get home. (I can't download them here w/o the software for my camera ... phooey.)
Anyhow, we fly home on Monday and after that have just over a month before we move out. A couple of you have asked about our future plans, so in case anyone else has been wondering ... Yes, we will be moving out of our home in Brooklyn at the end of June. We will put some or all of our things in storage for the summer, while we spend July and August out here in CA with our family and friends. At the end of August we will move to Maryland, where we will live for 9 months (through the end of next June), while T attends a pastor's college that is affiliated with the family of churches we belong to. After that, we hope to permantently move back to CA (the timing on that is still unknown), with the plan to move to San Francisco with an eye towards T possibly planting a church in the city within the next couple of years. LOTS of details have yet to be decided, but those are the plans as of now. We're looking at lots of change and lots of big decisions for our family's future in the next year, but I have a lot of faith for whatever God has in store for us and we're all very excited. Especially about moving back home to CA.
Alright, my time's up. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the last few days of spring. Wish us all luck for the rehearsal tonight, the wedding tomorrow and the looong flight home on Monday!
XOXO
P.S. Before I forget, meeting Brooke was as great as I knew it would be. She's just a beautiful, kind, thoughtful and down-to-earth as I had expected and Satchel and the Shookie had great fun playing together. We can't wait to see them again this summer!
