Well, after Nino spanked me for not posting more often, I thought I'd send up a quick "What We're Up To" before I get sent to my room. ;)
Anne Lamott: Traveling Mercies : Some Thoughts on Faith
Obviously, I'm on a religious journey kick (see below). I expect Lamott's exploration of her journey towards faith will be just as moving and laugh-out-loud funny as "Operating Instructions".
Kerry M. Olitzky: Jewish Ritual: A Brief Introduction For Christians
For anyone who has ever been curious about different Jewish customs, where they come from and their historical and spiritual significance, this is the book for you. (*****)
Ruth Irene Garrett: Crossing Over: One Woman's Escape from Amish Life
(***)
Don Freeman: Corduroy (Picture Puffins)
A childhood favorite of mine, I'm enjoying sharing this very sweet story with the Shookie now. (****)
Ludwig Bemelmans: Madeline
The Shookie is completely enamored with Mad-e-line, as he says it. A true classic. (****)
JEAN DE BRUNHOFF: The Story of Babar (Babar Books (Random House))
The Babar books were some of my favorite as a child, and I'm pleased that the Shookie has also taken an interest in them as well. (****)
